Sometimes you encounter situations so horrifically bad that you can't help but smile. It's like your brain tries to understand the sheer magnitude of unadulterated absurdity and just resigns itself to fate, opting for amusement as a coping mechanism.
But then, you remember that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you experienced morphs into a wistful, melancholic sound.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of bewilderment. You wonder about the nature of it all. Was this some kind of twisted art experiment?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Worst Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of morning hair. I couldn't do it to look right. As I was getting ready out the door, I fell and with a thud all over the carpet. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for work.

It all started out badly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
